Tommy,
In the event that something like this was to happen to one of us, what 
is the proper procedure to assure that your money does not get stolen 
from you by ruthless cops. Is there a form one asks for? Seems like 
there needs to be some legal document (receipt) in place proving that 
you indeed handed over X dollars in cash to a cop. I can see the very 
real possibility that some or all the cash could be pocketed by an 
individual or group of cops and the story would be "no judge, there was 
no cash being carried by the individual" ! You could easily be out of 
thousands of dollars.
