Well, I don't use one any more, but your photos bring back a lot of
memories.  I was brought up on a farm in the lower end of the Catskills
in New York State.  Always got out our own logs for lumber, resulting in
lots of limbs for firewood.  Every fall we got out the old saw rig and
cut up our winter wood!   Don't even remember what the hopper cooled
engine was ... my dad sold it to a 'scrap collector' many years later
... and then told me AFTER he did it!

They would put him in jail today if you had your kids standing by the
unguarded saw, tossing off the chunks as they were cut!  That was always
my job!  LOTS of memories!!

Gastonia?  Sounds like it must be near Gaston Lake?  We were down to
South Hill, VA in July to my wife's high school reunion.
