[SEL] Babbit bearings & pitted shafts

Andy,

JB Weld is good to 500 degrees F. per factory web site.  See:

I have used it with good success in a 3 hp. Fairbanks Morse Z cylinder to 
fill deep grooves caused by an errant wrist pin.  So far the repair has 
lasted about 15 years.

I just looked at the Devcon site and their standard steel filled epoxy is 
resistant to 250 degrees F.

I think that the various babbitt metals have melting points ranging from 
350 to 450 degrees F.
