I need to pour some new bearings and the shaft has some deep pits. My original plan was to simply fill the pits with JB weld or Devcon and sand flush with the existing shaft. The filler will have plenty of strength on the shaft but I wonder how it will hold up to the heat of pouring the bearing? Who has experience with this problem?
