I have three Sunnen hones, a JR, an AN, and a ANhd. I also have an old Sunnen rod honing machine. These are precision pieces od equipment. When boring a cylinder I usually stop .002" small and hone to finish, starting with 100 grit and working up to the finish I want. On small engines if I'm only boring .010 or .020" I just use the hone, it goes pretty quick with the 100 grit dry. The bottle brush gives a nice looking finish but it doesn't do what a hone is supposed to do, remove the high spots. They're ok for a glaze breaker when re ringing.
