I think you've overlooked the obvious solution to the problem.  Call back the
people putting on the show and tell them that although your club cannot attend,
you'd be glad to accept their invitation.  Then call up some of your homeboys
and tell them to bring out some junk.  Then go out and have a good time.
Problem solved.
