[SEL] OT, older jeep pickup

hello all,,, recently acquired a late 40's or early 50's jeep pickup,,, can anyone confirm the
engine oil capacity, it had a small 4 cyl ,,the stop on the dip stick is missing,,, also, it has a PTO shaft that runs to the rear of the frame, just like a tractor PTO, could this be a factory addition? what would it have been used for ?
