Hi Barry,

This weekend I was at a show where Bill Knupp had a half-breed on
exhibit.

When he went to fire it up, he lit a Craftsman propane torch and stuck it
in a
hole in the bottom of the hot tube chimney.  You know, the kind people
use to 
take off paint - or start a grill - just a small propane torch. 

The hole was probably where the original inlet line was attached.

I commented on it and he said it works and is much simpler than firing
the hot tube
in the traditional way.

Within a few minutes the tube was hot enough to start the engine.
