Curt,

Reading my most recent issue of GEM reminded me of the 
Soldering Iron Stove you have.

Did you ever get the supply tube open.?

It just dawned on me - - - Does that tube have a wick in it - 
Similar to a Blow Torch???

I believe a blow torch has a wick with a wire in the tube.
