We use standard ratchet straps, 10 X 1.5" wide and a couple of larger
truck-sized 2" straps. There are a few diddy ones that we use for
holding sheets on top of things.

One thing we do, we throw them away every couple of years and replace
them with new as the webbing gets rears and the mechanisms get rusty
with the salt on the roads in winter over in the UK, even with WD40
spray and oiling.

Another thing we look out for is the test rating, and only use 5ton
and 10ton breaking test straps, some of the cheapo varieties are not
worth having.
