Hi Tommy,
I didn't recognize the hot tube and am still not clear about it.   There is, 
on the off side of the engine near the head a dome with holes which I  took to 
be the mixer and the holes are for air intake.  Is the hot tube the  little 
stub that comes out and bends down on the front of the engine at about  the 
same height as the ignitor?

Not a bad hunk of iron there.  Its an  early one as evidenced by the 
patent dates on the tag and the hot tube set  up on the side of the 
engine.  In my opinion, it would be worth a  bunch of Maytags.
