Jimmy,

That is kind of my thinking too ;-)

At a parking lot show the majority of the people passing by would be
there to go shopping and would normally never attend an engine show.
The curiosity of something odd in the parking lot that others are
looking at might draw them over and remind them of that old piece of
junk uncle Joe has next to the barn.

I would be surprised if you could put on a show without at least one
person telling one of the exhibitors that they know the location of an
engine.
