[SEL] Portland PROBLEMS?????

As a foreign visitor to the Portland event, I am awed by the magnitude of
the problems in organising it.
While I can see the sanity in having traders separated from the exhibitors,
When my mate Tom Ball set up a table with his Eclipse model and castings in
the ATIS area and was prepared to sell a few sets of castings, I really
could see no problem. He was showing with his group of friends. Technically,
he was in the wrong.
So just where CAN you draw the line? I feel that there should be a very
flexible dividing line so all can be accommodated without a lot of 'set in
concrete' rules.
The solidifying of 'rules' always drives people away and causes friction.
Trust me, I KNOW!!! <G>
To me, Portland IS the greatest. Dont let the 'small minded' spoil it.
