[SEL] Vertical Stover Rings

Thanks to those who replied to this one. I am still not sure when, why, or
if there was a point at which Stover changed from three to four rings on the
verticals. The parts book I have here (effective 1926) only shows three ring
pistons for both the early style and later style engines.
I think I will end up putting the three ring piston I have into my YC as it
is in much better condition than the original four ring one that was in it.
The original piston has a badly chopped out upper ring groove.

Hi Patrick,

My Patrick,
My Stover A type (2HP) sn: 5148 has 3 rings.
My YB (3HP) sn: 15669, has 4 rings. This engine is from 1909.

I never paid any attention to it, because the A type is a smaller engine (4"
bore) so I guess that's the reason.

Hope this helps.
