[SEL] old engines on Propane question

Hi Graham, many years ago when I had an early Lister L
& found I was running short of petrol I used to put a pipe
into the air intake of the Carb with a low flow of propane.
Then I turned off the petrol & it would run all day.
To do it properly you need a suction valve in the supply
to turn on the gas when the engine sucks fuel.
If you don't have the valve, if the engine stops you could
flood the area with explosive gas.
Happy playing. 8^)
