[SEL] For Ted..parkerizing

Hopefully Ted will read this.
  I am in the process of restoring my old "Star" metal lathe.  Some of the 
parts I have foolishly blasted and removed the old finish.

  Some while back (hopefully Ted) had instructions for "Stove top 
parkerizing" but I can't find it now.
Would this be a good process (in black) for a re-finish?

Also need generic? guidelines for setting up the carriage drive gears. 
Would Lindsay be a good place to start and would anyone recommend one of his 
books.
