[SEL] Briggs Valves

Hi This little trick has worked for me a hundred times on auto engines with
this style keeper.Set a deep socket with the same dia. as the retainer on
top of the retainer and swat it with a hammer. If you are careful it
releases the keepers and you 'll find them in the socket.  Good Luck  Jimmy

Joe, I've done many of these with two screwdrivers. Pry the spring up with
the screwdrivers while holding the valve down, let one go, the retaining
washer will cock, but usually you'll have enough room to install the
keepers. A little grease and a screwdriver will help with the keepers.
