I am where you little pinky comes around to touch your ring finger.I do not believe they had these fake asbestos ones in 1956.
I do not believe that stack of shingles have been moved since Dad placed them there in 1956. I had to call Mom and ask just when he bought them.Alan

I might be my house is sided with them. There was 
a version of these shingles too the are often 
mistaken for asbestos. They are actually some 
type of a material that makes you think of a soft 
ceramic or plaster or cementacious material. They 
break something like tile. My house has a mixture 
of asbestos and these.  Where are you in Michigan?  Mark S.
