That would be a site to see. It would never happen at Buckley now. All exhibitors get in free and there is always someone to check them in and part of that is confirming they have what is called a worthy exhibit. The worst offender this year was the club member that came in with a huge trailer and had family there with with two large tents and a pickup camper. What that whole group was displaying was about 20 chainsaws that just sat there. He was allowed in because he and his wife are now the members in CHARGE of the small engine area. If it happens like that next year I will take pictures and address the topic firmly. At the end of the day he came back with all the goodies he had bought picked up the peeler and off, last we saw of him for the weekend. A wasted ticket that could have gone to someone that wanted to go and show engines for the weekend. The next year the crap hit the fan over free tickets and now none of us go. That's what this amendment is setting us up for. I'm not imagining this. It is well known that deals with foreign corporations are waiting in the wings. But the most frustrating part of this for me (I'm a very small farmer in Missouri) is that our state legislators deceived us in the way the amendment was presented on the ballot. The language on the ballot said "Missouri citizens shall have the right to farm". Who can argue with that? The language on the amendment itself, however, said nothing at all about citizens. In other words - anybody has the right to farm in Missouri. And that right shall not be abridged even if the air and soil and water of our state are being poisoned by some outfit that is taking the profits it makes from it's rapacious behavior half way around the world. The amendment language is actually shorter than what is presented on the ballot so what reason could our legislators have for this switcheroo except to slide something crooked by an unsuspecting citizenry? I didn't know about the difference in the two paragraphs - that's all they both are, two short paragraphs - until after I voted. I think most people naturally assumed that what was on the ballot was what they were voting for.
