Just spoke with Dave a few minutes ago and he was sitting on his hospital bed waiting for a friend to pick him up and take him home.
He was still upset about all the procedures done and no idea on what exactly was wrong with him but happy to be going home and alive.
I am sure you will be hearing from him again soon.
