Subject: Re: [SEL] Winter Storage
Winter storage is something I need to something about before I forget about
it.
Last winter I failed to completely drain the water out of a cooling system
and ended up with a seized water pump on an engine.
I didn't realize the water pump had to be drained separately as the water
doesn't drain from it with the rest of the cooling system.
I've got the engine drained now since I won't be taking it to any shows
until next year. But I've still got water in the darn water pump and need
to drain it as I might not be as lucky if the barn gets below freezing
again.
One of the advantages of my Gade engine is I never need to do anything to
get it ready for winter.
