I am still new to the OBD 1 tester. Still trying to understand the 
procedure of the running test. I suck at understanding written 
instruction but I can catch demonstration instantly. The problem with 
written instruction is its written by people intimately familiar with 
the procedure so important minor details get glossed over. But I will 
try to do it tomorrow. I do remember Ford is great for using the 
fiber or plastic timing gear and it likes to wear along with chain 
stretch. I plan to do a chain and gear set on it as soon as I get the 
other problems ironed out.
  I am going to investigate the EGR solenoid tomorrow. It may have a 
leak. If the EGR is not opening due to not enough vacuum from the 
solenoid at higher rpm the timing is then wrong for the resulting mix 
of combustion gas. This could create the P I Ping I am hearing under 
acceleration.  If the solenoid is leaking it would also explain the 
stumble. Will have to check it out.  My poor old 93 had 260K on it 
and running strong. I had planned to take it to at least 300. But the 
inner body was getting really rough.            Thanks,      Mark
