Yes, It is a great show.
Portland has more engines.
Buckley has a LOT more for the whole family.
We seem to be building something new every year.
Last year shortly before the show we won the bid and now have a smal scale steam train that was built in Traverse City and for more years than I can remember it was giving rides around the small zoo there.
Well, the zoo was closed several years ago so they finally decided it offer the train by sealed buds. Some place down in Florida was offering a huge amout for it and the Buckley club put in a $20 bid.
We knew there were a lot of people upset about the city selling the train and we were offering to take it and set it up on our grounds so it can at least be used part time.
Keeping it local was better than a large check.

At the last 2012 meeting in November  we learned that all of the cars were almost restored and there was a ten foot long model of a train tressle / covered bridge and that should be built before the show this year. It will double as a Winter storage for the train because they are planning panels that will close it in for the Winter.

The first 2013 meeting is April 5. I am anxious to hear what else is in the works for the 2013 show.

Alan
