Oh Bill was Quite the character. He had his own Sohio Station in the
70s then went to work for the City of Akron in Road Vehicle
Maintenance and worked up to Foreman of the Department. Then in the
early 2000s transferred to Police and Emergency Vehicles Maintenance
Serving as foreman there till retirement. Reason he retired was a
good story too. Not to be told here. His work history is rather mundane.
He and his cousin bought an airplane and repaired it to fly. Mind
you neither one was a pilot. The closest either one was to pilot was
Bill. He was Crew Chief of a Huey Gun Ship. LOL. And that was not
till well after this happened! Anyways he and his cousin got the
plane operational and fueled it and yep took her up. Neither one of
them had the nerve to land it so they flew into PA. Kept going till
the fuel run out crash landed in a pasture abandoned the plane and
hitch hiked back to Ohio. Never went back for it. That was in the
early 60s. And the stories continued for many years. Mark
