I tend to agree with Doug. But fire extinguishers always have a name
and information badge on them. It might have been removed or fallen off.
In the 50s and other decades auto garages used carbon tet to clear
brake parts of brake fluid, oils and greases. Some just used carbon
tet fire extinguishers, others had carbon tet in bulk and they used a
sprayer applicator similar if not identical to a carbon tet fire
extinguisher to deliver the tet.
The same kind of applicator was used for the application of garden
chemicals for insect treatments.
