I bet that if he had rotated the camera 90 degrees for a portrait style rather than landscape style, that the bent appearing spokes would be in a different location (i.e. 90 degrees).

Ps.  Of course if he was in the southern hemisphere the spokes would appear to be bent in the opposite direction ;-)

The spokes at 9 and 3... very "bowed," at 10 and 4... kinda' bowed and at 8
and 2 mostly straight!
