All this raises an old question--one I have asked myself for years. It
boils down to this, "How much better a job does a large (ie 450 lbs.)
magnet charger do than a smaller one--say 100 lbs?" What happens when
the charger weight is dropped to, say, 15 lbs? I have charged magnets
for antique engines with a 15# charger built by some guy (from FL:)
who sells/sold them and also with my ~100# charger. Both have worked
well and have fired an engine just fine after charging the magnets. I
am a real fan of "bigger is better" (as many of you who have seen my
KING DICK can attest.) However the "law of diminishing returns" has to
take affect somewhere in the charging of magnets!
