Hi Ash,
Welcome to a great hobby and great friends on this list and
everywhere else you find engine people.
The Lister D is still pretty easy to find parts for as it was a
very popular engine with a production run starting about 1926 and going
through to the sixties sometime. One of the longest ever production runs
for a stationary engine.
Your best bet is to find and join a club in your area - meet
people and ask around for spares. Many people have a few D's lying around
in the shed somewhere. At least that is the case here in South Africa - Aus
may be different due to the number of engines like the Ronnie N that were
built in Aus. and probably took a greater market share there than the Lister D.
Also have a look at David Edgingtons books on the Lister D here:
<www.stationaryenginebooks.co.uk> all well worth the price.
Keep the revs up (or down)
