[SEL] O.T. Again - Envious.

Hi all,
	I'm, once again, envious of you Northern Hemisphere members. It's damn 
cold here (but you guys just had a very cold winter so I should not 
complain). The Aussie and NZ members are in the same boat as I am.

	Although we do not have the snow and ice storms that some of you Yanks 
have it still gets darn cold for us (considering that my signature states 
that I'm from "Sunny South Africa" !!). Fortunately, our days are quite 
warm (if you can find a sheltered spot in the sun) but once the sun starts 
setting it's hell (without the heat!).

	Earlier this week it went down to -10.3 degrees overnight here (that's 
centigrade = approx. 13.5 degrees farenheit). Combined with an ice cold 
wind (wind chill factor) it was actually much colder. I imagine you guys in 
the north experience that all the time but it's cold for us. The water 
drain pipe on my airline burst (because of my stupidity - I'd forgotten to 
drain it and leave the tap open).

	Did anyone see the pics of a soccer team (it may have been the French but 
I'm not sure) in Bloemfontein (remember, it's the Soccer World Cup going on 
here). The reserve players were sitting huddled up in blankets.

	I've got 2 engines standing outdoors without anti freeze but fortunately I 
did remember to drain the water off. I hope they survive.

	My office is very cold but this year I built a fireplace into it and now 
it's quite pleasant. I spent today cutting firewood and working with a 
chainsaw does keep one a bit warmer. I've now got a pretty fair sized wood 
pile outside. I think that I should move a bed in here - it would sure save 
me the agony of walking to my house (only about 25 metres away) but I also 
have to carry the cat !! :-)

	Anyway, to anyone who has read this far, thanks and apologies for yet 
another "Off Topic" post.
