[SEL] Cordless Tools (Semi-OT)

Make all the claims you want to.
I have been in the trades since 1975.
I am not into full time building right now but I have spent 2 1/2 days driving 2 1/2" and 3" screws before the battery died.
I grabbed the one from that little MP3 playing radio and put the dead one on the charger.
Twenty minutes later it was charged and I had my music back.

I have seen way too many NICads puke out.
That is why I bought this great kit with real batteries.

Yup, I could make an adapter and plug in a cord to run my dead NiCad tools but why???
I already have a bunch of plug in drills and circular saws.

I don't know where you all get your batteries but my NiCad's will eat them up all day long.  They will outlast them on run time, not die in a flash and will last longer overall.  I make my living by the life and death of cordless tools and will go side by side with any of the those POS Lithium's you can come up with.  If your a DIYer then they are probably great but on the job they are nothing but CRAP!  I agree that the NiCads will remember but if you would read the instructions that come with tools then you would know this and you can prevent this thus making the charge last longer.
