intake pipe temporally? Hope you guys are having fun! Cya, Jimmy O'Hagan

Subject: [SEL] Bamford OV Engine Speet Governing
Hi Folks,
I've got a Millars sludge pump outfit that's powered by a 3-1/2 hp Bamford
OV engine
circa 1937. http://www.oldengine.org/members/arnie/millars/millars.htm
At Baraboo I concluded that I really need to slow the engine down. She's
running at
full rated speed and the pump just does too much sloshing of water. It's
hard to
keep the water in the tank that I'm using.
Here's what it looked like at home with the pre-Baraboo test run.

In looking it over, it appears that there might be coil springs behind pins
that the
governor weights press on. I didn't see any sort of speed adjustment.
If anyone has any experience with the governor setup on a Bamford OV I'd
love to
hear from you. I plan to tear into it today at Portland, but if there's an
adjustment that I'm not seeing, that would sure save time.
See ya, Arnie
