We run the 11hp Ruston diesel on Morris Lubricants Golden Film oil.
It's not a full detergent, just a straight 30 oil for older engines
and cars:

Probably there's something equivalent in the USA?

We have plenty of synthetic and semi-synthetic for the diesel vans and
the Discovery V8 (semi-synthetic diesel oil 10W-40) but the Ruston is
slow speed and doesn't really get hot enough to make multi-grades work
properly.

We have run quite a few hours now, and haven't changed any of the
drip-rates, it still drags out a lot of dirt from the engine and the
bore etc is fine.

We did a bearing inspection after Nuenen and it all looks fine.
