> Hi All,
> My Emerson Brantingham, model "H", 1 1/2hp had developed a blow by thru the intake valve. So yesterday I took it to a engine friends tractor repair shop and we dissassembled, ground, lapped and seated both intake/exhaust valves, also put in a new set of rings. We continued to get blow by thru the intake valve so took apart and relapped with still no change in blow by. Timing is right on. By some trial and error and taking intake valve off and on at least ten times we decided to not tighten up the three bolts holding the intake asy in place.........the blow by stopped. Now the there is an air leak around the cage of the intake and engine does run some what. Was wondering if any one has one of these engines or had similiar experience. All areas have been cleaned and the mating surfices are polished and true, we are not seeing any signs of warpage. Sure could use some help and ideas.
