I've been reading a lot about the Russian K129 submarine and the
attempted recovery by the CIA using the Hughes Glomar Explorer
recovery ship.

There are a few books on the subject, and in the last few weeks I have
been in correspondence with a guy who has just released a documentary
on DVD about the whole operation.

It is a fascinating subject, especially the building of the boat and
the huge claw that was made to pick up the sub from nearly 17000 ft
below the surface of the ocean.

For those interested in the technical side of things, as I am, the DVD
is on release directly from the company that made it, it is in PAL
format, so check that you can switch between PAL and NTSC on your DVD
player. Mine does and I think most do these days.

Have a look at the graphics and the story, it is basically true, and
if anyone wants the relevant book titles, let me know and I'll send a
list. All but one are recently published. I hope to have mine here by
the weekend.
