but you can no longer --- Legally --- buy one without registering it
---in some states----

BUT there are still many states that have no registration and all states
can only run the NICS checks if your buying from an FFL.

I can sell you any firearm out of my collection with no paperwork. (well
not the full auto toys, because the Federal Transfer paperwork has to
get filed) What you do with it after that is your problem.
