[SEL] Engine Thieves Not Caught in New Hampshire

They had not actually done anything yet as far as the law is
concerned. Just backed up to a engine not clearly visible from the
road with the owners not home and loading gear in the truck. If the
owner had came home and seen the ramps down and cables hooked on,
then the intent would have been more clear. As it is now in New
Hampshire where this happened, uninvited people are allowed to
trespass when no signs are posted and do what ever they want as long
as clear intent is not shown and they leave when you confront
them. Myself personally I would not do what they had done. Most of
us would have parked at the outer end of the drive way and went to
the door first to knock . But not have intruded further untill the
owner was present.
So you in New Hampshire be warned it looks like anyone can come
stomping around on your place without asking and look it all over,
snoop around and then just leave if confronted and nothing can be
done if No Trespassing signs are not posted. Mark
