Dump out any oil. Dump in some degreaser and slosh it around to remove
more oil. Rinse. Dump in a gallon of Evapo-Rust. Let it set overnight.
Drain out the ER through a funnel and a towel (filters out larger rust
particles) put it back in the container to use again.
Now rinse the sockets with degreaser/water and wipe dry.
