[SEL] O.T O.T O.T Need to talk to a math expert

The equation for the volume of a rectangular box is:

V=L×w×h

Where L, w, and h are the length, width, and height, respectively, of the inside of the box, if you want the internal volume. A cube (or square box) is just a special case where the length, width, and height are equal.
So, if the length of a side of the cubic box is 's':

V=s³

Or if you want to know what the dimension of the side of a cubic box that holds a given amount, you take the cube root of the volume you want:

s=³?V

If you need a box that holds a certain number of yards, convert the number of cubic yards you want to cubic feet. One cubic yard equals 27 cubic feet. So just multiply the number of cubic yards you want by 27 to get cubic feet.

Perhaps a little easier than F-M water hoppers and pails. Hope this helps!

Folks I need to build a box that will hold 4 cubic feet of soil. What would be the dimensions of this box?

Thanks,

Paul
