Hi Kerry:

Crossleys and Nationals are not that common here either, apart from
the smaller twin side-shaft ones and the like.

As has already been mentioned by George, the whole internet community
has changed since the 1990's when a lot of us first got involved. Now
we have Smokstak, Facebook, untold numbers of smaller forums and so
on. Most days I just don't get the time to spend on all of them, so
restrict myself to the two engine lists and the 'Stak.

Our own small UK engine forum also takes up a lot of admin time for
me, and we seem to be growing the membership steadily.

Engine-wise I have more in the workshop than ever, mainly the Ruston
1ZHR which is going to be at Nuenen next year, plus a whole load of
other bits and pieces that we are playing with.

We won't be at Portland this year, had to give it a miss as we had
spent a small fortune on getting the house rebuild done over the
winter, and the recession has taken a lot of our income away for the
short term.

We get to go to SFO in October though, our two adopted granddaughters
are coming over for a week or so to see the USA for the first time.

Regards to all,

Peter
