Hi - Have been a list lunker for a couple years. Finally started a
project of refurbishing a Lister SL-3. But have run into a problem.
The engine had been sitting outside for years and is frozen. When the
heads were removed found water in two cylinders. Both cylinder walls
are rusted and pitted with one being much worse than the other. Seems
to be where the engine is frozen, but haven't been able to pull the
pistons yet. That's the next job.
I'm open to suggestions as to how to proceed? What can be done to
repair the cylinder? Can the cylinders be bored and over sized pistons
fitted? Do such over size parts exist? And where are standard parts
available, on the cheap, for the SL3? :-)
Thanks for reading.
