I've had a drum of Jet A stored for 4 or 5 years and it still smells fresh.
Whether like petrol smell is an indicator I don't know

Subject: [SEL] Oil for Oil engines

On this subject and the fact that the Oil is what we call Power Kero. I have
40 ltrs of Jet A fuel that I have obtained from my local helicopter service.
I intend to use this for a hot tube oil engine that I hope to have complete
by 2011 [ next National Rally in Australia after Murray Bridge ]
......question ,will it deteriate before I try to use it?

Note I will qualify my idea about using the oil for the engine by saying
that by that time I might be living in a cave and want the oil for lighting
and cooking........due to to ever increasng financial crisis that is now
heading for Depression!
