Peter was the one that used "low-compression" and "Marshall" in the same sentence. ;-)

When you said low-compression I was thinking much lower then 16:1,so I think you're right about it being a true diesel.

The Field Marshall is a true diesel, not a semi-diesel.
The compression ratio is about 16:1 according to a search I just did. I can check my manuals at home to confirm that later.
