Don't know if I can buy the helicoil repair kits locally or if I'd have
to order them over the internet.  Got a couple auto parts stores and a
really good Ace hardware store in the area.

On my way home from work I'll see if any of them have the helicoil kits,
otherwise I'll give the JB Weld a try first.  Granted the helicoil would
be a stronger repair, but the JB weld is something that can be done
tonight and if it doesn't work I'm not really out anything as the
helicoil can still be used later if needed.

I don't think the heat will be a problem as the stud isn't exposed to
the exhaust and head shouldn't be getting hotter than the JB weld is
rated for.
