A couple of years ago I got to thinking that I would like to cook my 
own food at engine shows.  I didn't have a hopper, but I did have 120 
VAC from my Kohler Light Plant. A look around Ebay turned up a small 
table top Broiler (Heats from the top)  I bought it for $12.50 and 
found that apparently it was one of those small appliance wedding 
presents that was never used.

Every show people seem to get a kick out of seeing it in use and the 
light plant purring away to cook my steak dinner.  A few have asked 
how old it was so I looked around the Internet one night and found 
another for sale, this one with a brochure that gave the name.  Robot 
Broiler by Farberware.

One more google search and I find that it is 1938 or so and people 
collect them!
