Hi all,

I bought a fuel pump casting for my R&V vertical (thanks to friends in California) and it is cast from what our friends across the pond call 'Red Bronze".
Now I guess that some of you would say that brass is brass and bronze is bronze, no.
All the bronze I have here is slightly darker than normal brass, but this casting has a red tinge to it.

I had to drill three holes into the casting to create the bypass tube as no core was used when casting the pump. The original R&V pump had a core to create this bypass when casting.
The 3 holes I drilled, 1/4", need to be plugged up. Does anyone have any 5/16" red brass rod about 10" long they want to sell?
If I use the bronze I have here you will see the plug hole, does it matter you say, well to me it does !!! ;-)

Now. if I had some aussie bronze and melted it down, could I add some copper to increase the redness???

If anyone can help please contact me here OFF LIST:
