Hi Rob,
	The JB is a type J 'Benzine' engine (ie not a gas or oil engine). I
think it is from the 1900-10 era.

Thanks, Patrick.  Can you tell me about the Crossley JB?  What does  
the B suffix mean?  What vintage is the engine?
