In November I came home to find water in my yard, the nipple between the meter and the shutoff valve was leaking. The local hardware store opened and I got the supplies I needed, although I waas disappointed that he didn't have a !" brass nipple. I told a friend that if it lasted 30 years like the other one I'd be satisfied. He said it was probably a chinese nipple and not to expect much. It didn't last 6 mmonths , corroded through in the threads. I replaced it and the valve with pvc, a foot away it joined thje pvc to the house.
