Vitriol there is no shortage of  LOL ,  will that interchange with the 
copper sulfate for aquarium ich ? (malachite blue)
You can buy that stuff everywhere . I have used the torch / copper tubing 
tinning trick for cracks and that works really good .
As stated , getting the whole part hot enough to melt the solder is the real 
trick . You can turn an entire water jacket into a blast furnace
with a little compressed air and some kero on a "wick" . Took a little 
fiddling to figure that one out . .
