[SEL] Sticking lead to cast iron

I too am very interested in this topic ,  I have a carb that needs a 
copper/brass suction tube soldered to cast Iron , I have tried every thing 
to make it stick with no success , acid , rosin , and grinding to shinny 
cast , Just can't make lead stick , never tried the copper but it makes 
sense . where can a fellow get the copper salts needed ?
