Just got back from 2 weeks in South Aust. I believe that google has
contracted to have a car drive around and actually take pictures. I saw one
driving around Adelaide with a contraption  about 3-4 feet above the car
fixed to a pole. Google logo was on the side of the car, which was gold. 
Took no notice until my son in law showed me street view last night. From
info that he had they are only filming Oz and US

Hi all

Has anyone had a look at Google Street View yet, is that view via satellite 
or what????
It is not bad, shows your house as full front view at street level.
Bring up the Google Home Page, click on Maps, type an address and click on 
street view, if the house you are looking for is there when you click on the

red marker and picture window should appear, you can then rotate the camera 
360 degrees.
The whole east coast of Oz is visible.
